Buying Black market petrol officially illegal

Inspector-General of Police, IGP Solomon E. Arase, has instructed all Zonal Assistant Inspectors-General as well as FCT/State Commands Commissioners of Police to arrest anyone found selling petrol or other petroleum products in plastic containers.

According to the directive which was issued by Arase on Monday, April 26, the police said apart from the hardship black marketing is causing to fuel buyers, it has also rendered some innocent and law abiding citizens homeless due to fire outbreak from jerry-can petrol storage.
